In reaction to BMW's Z4 M Roadster Porsche have upgraded both standard and 'S' models of the Boxster with increased levels of power.

The 2.7-litre 'flat' six now produces 245bhp accelerating the Boxster from 0-62mph in 6.1 seconds and reaching a top speed of 160mph.

The Boxster S's engine is increased in size to 3.4 litres, and power is up to 295bhp, which is 15bhp more than its 3.2-litre predecessor. The S will go from 0-62mph in 5.4 seconds and has a top speed of 169mph.

The Porsche Boxster 2.7 starts at £33,170, and you can pick up an S for £39,850. Deliveries begin in August.

Peugeot 307 CC Hybrid Convertible Classic Cars Parts 1

Peugeot's 307 CC Hybrid is the latest car from the French manufacturer to use its diesel-electric hybrid power plant.

The 1.6-litre turbo diesel engine with 110bhp is used, but with a particulate filter to reduce sooty emissions.

The electric motor is capable of producing 43bhp and can be used on its own at up to 30mph.

Together, the hybrid power plants help the 307 CC manage 70mpg.

The 307 CC Hybrid will be on display at the British motor show, and Peugeot is looking to introduce its Hybrid technology on production cars by 2010.
